Sweet Sin Design

One of my first art projects back in high school was figure ground cut-outs inspired by MC Escher. I’ve always loved the concept and never really got to use it much. So for this month’s design challenge, I decided to use it for horror movies.

While initially on social media, I had used various colors, I ended up using the same 3 colors for the entire project: black, maroon, and white. This palette limit helps to control my thought process and reign in the design to just lines and shapes rather than overthinking it. These were all done within 30 minutes to 60 minutes time slot to also help create limits to the project so many of them seems like first drafts, which has an appeal to them as well.
