30 Days of Horror Movies 2019
Every August, I return to my favorite kind of challenge: watching horror movies and doing something artistic to help grow my skills. This year I worked on my hand lettering skills. I’ve been doing more digital lettering recently and it comes off a bit too polished. Hand lettering shows I can still draw, make mistakes, redo them, and you can see all the imperfections and the grids I draw beforehand. Thus, I was on a new endeavor to watch horror movies and be artsy!
This year, Amazon Prime actually had a lot of good horror movies (moreso than Netflix). I had never seen Friday the 13th and Amazon Prime actually had the first half of the franchise so I was able to get through that. (Will someone be streaming all of Halloween??? I have never seen that franchise!)
I find more recent horror movies have gotten much better in presentation and actually having story lines. Thus, something good has come with modern times. Check out my project below and you can view them on my instagram feed as well.
