Updating a Bicentennial Logo for St. Luke in the Fields
In honor of 200 years in New York City, the Church of St. Luke in the Fields needed a logo for all their branded contents. The logo needed to match the current logo while also being its own entity.
Part of my process includes interviewing the client and researching audience and similar logos. This was intriguing because I started to look at church logos very differently around the city.
Aside from researching other logos, I also did a color exploration. I kept the font the same as the current branding as they are pretty strong already.
In the first round, I provided various versions of the icon logo of the church bell tower. It included very detailed to simplified drawings.
Once the client picked a direction, I cleaned up the logo with more options.
In the final phase of the project, I provided a logo style guide thus giving the client a better understanding of how the design came about. It also helped the client to create more products after the logo delivery.
I provided mock-ups for the logo so that the client can see the logo in its best layout.
